The continued support from Masons across the State of Illinois at these events may not seem like much, but physical presence matters just as much as financial support. These young academic minds are at a crossroads of a life journey where many have not seen a visible adult presence in positive support and encouragement of their academic achievements. Through the Masonic Academic Bowl, the Masons of Illinois have the chance to re-write the ‘have not seen a visible adult presence in positive support’ by showing up at the tournaments and giving positive support for the accomplishments of the team members.

This competition does more than just provide challenges of academic knowledge for students. The Masonic Academic Bowl fosters and encourages excellence in education. During the sectional tournament events throughout the state, over $31,000 worth of scholastic awards money has been awarded to high schools whose teams made remarkable strides in their scholastic bowl team’s academic knowledge. During the state tournament event, over $12,000 worth of scholastic awards has been awarded to high schools that qualified for the event. These awards would not have been possible without the help of 300+ different Masonic Lodges across Illinois who collectively donated over $48,000 for the tournament.
